Alderman Aboutaleb's omission

The spokesman of Amsterdam mosque As-Soenah, Mr. Kabli, went on the record to state that according to Islam those who insult the faith have to be hurt and killed, to student paper Folia. Achmed Aboutaleb, the Labour Alderman of Moroccan descent quickly went to the mosque to quench the flames. Mr. Aboutaleb is the big Muslim vote magnet for the Labour party in Amsterdam, where Muslims are a big voting block.

After talking to the mosque's elders they came out with a statement that "Mr. Kabli was a passerby to the mosque and was not connected to the community in any official way".

Which is not far from the truth. Mr. Kabli was introduced to Folia's reporter as the spokesman / interpreter of the Mosque. One could say that Islam does not have such a position organisationally.

What Mr. Aboutaleb also knew, but did not say was that Mr. Kabli had been an elder of the Mosque during the 80ies and 90ies until the year 2000. Mr. Aboutaleb chose to hide that inflammatory fact and had to admit so in a TV interview broadcasted on regional TV station AT5.

He defended himself that he would have said so if he had been asked directly whether Mr. Kabli had been an official of the As-Soenah mosque in the past. He deliberately framed the facts, co-ordinating his story with the As-Soenah imam and the elders AND Mr. Kabli in such a way that it would create the impression that the damning statement by Mr. Kabli is not as serious as it is.

Mr. Aboutaleb is advancing a hidden agenda that seeks to strengthen the power of the Muslim community in Amsterdam and The Netherlands, at the expense of the other communities and the non-muslim taxpayer. In future Dutchmen would be well-advised not to trust the stories that Mr. Aboutaleb and the Labour party is telling them.

Amsterdam mosque issues death threats against "those who insult Islam".

The person who is being threatened, Ewout Jansen, is the son of Dutch Islam-expert Hans Jansen. Hans Jansen wrote the commentary on the letter Van Gogh's assasin Mohammed Bouyeri left on the filmmaker's body. I translated the commentary and published it here.

My summary. Fledgling comedian Ewout Jansen, makes "goat jockey" jokes about Muslims. Muslims in the audiences issue threats. Student paper Folia asks for interview with imam of As-Soenna Mosque. Imam turns up with As-Soenna spokesman / translator, Mr. Kabli. Folia interviews first imam, then the translator. Translator says serious Muslims should attack and kill "those who insult Islam, the religion of peace". Just as the letter Assasin Bouyeri left on Van Gogh's body says.

There is an uproar in the press after Folia publishes the interview. Alderman Achmed Aboutaleb visits the mosque to have tea with the imam. He dissembles and declares to the Amsterdam city council that the translator was just a visitor to the mosque and has nothing to do with As-Soenna.

Alderman Aboutaleb is a prominent Amsterdam Labour politician, who is bound to go into national politics in a few years. He is the great white hope of the struggling Labour party and commands the Morroccan Muslim voter base in the big cities. He is the face of the sophisticated Muslims, who pretent moderation and who know that nothing will endanger the chances of the umma to gain power so much as firing too early and shooting their bolt.

But that is what a lot of the common Muslims do all the time. They are unthinking and robotic in their quest for power and their moves are utterly predictable. Which begs the question: "why are so many people still deceived?"

Verdonk gets apology from Achmed the Amsterdam Aelderman

A week ago I wrote that Amsterdam Aelderman Achmed Aboutaleb accused Minister of Immigration and Intergration Rita Verdonk of "capitalizing on the murder of Theo van Gogh". The filmmaker was assassinated by a Jihadist in November 2004.

"Iron" Liberal-Conservative (VVD) Rita Verdonk, demanded an apology. She would not meet him until he would "go through dust". Mayor Job Cohen (Labour) tried to save the face of the big Muslim hope of the Labour Party, by insisting that Aboutaleb had apologized.

Monday, after heavy critizism from all sides the Muslim Aelderman (Dutch) apologized fully to Verdonk.

The episode is important. Aboutaleb is supposed to draw the votes for Labour from the moderate Muslims in Amsterdam, especially the Moroccans. For a Muslim man to apologize to a woman is a big thing and it will have damaged Aboutaleb's voter appeal considerably.

The votes will go to other leftist parties or more Muslim voters, who have a below 50 percent voting participation rate will stay home when the elections are held.

Verdonk versus the rest of the world

Amsterdam (Dutch) City Executive and Labour Party politician Achmed Aboutaleb accused Immigration and Integration Minister Rita Verdonk of using the murder of Theo van Gogh for political capital.

Minister Verdonk reacted by:

demanding an apology from Amsterdam city executive Ahmed Aboutaleb, following his accusation that Verdonk made political capital from the murder of film-maker Theo van Gogh. Verdonk called his accusation a ‘scandalous twisting of the facts’. Verdonk has also pulled out of a debate with Aboutaleb scheduled for Sunday.

This afternoon the issue came up in the Amsterdam city council in a motion supported by the Christian Democrats (CDA) and the Liberal-Conservatives (VVD).

Aboutaleb refused to apologize to Verdonk but said he was sorry. He refused to go further. The meeting was ajourned and afterwards Major Job Cohen issued a statement that the words of Aelderman Aboutaleb should be understood as a apology.

We will see how Mrs. Verdonk reacts.
