Esther's IslaminEurope blog reports that Labour (PvdA) politician Ahmed Marcouch wants to use "decoy Jews" in order to identify harrassers of Jews. Appearently Marcouch wants to use people who must dress in such a way they seem Jewish in order to provoke antisemites so that they can be found out. Use Jew-bait to catch Jew-baiters, so to speak.

I wonder: after they have been found out, what is going to be done in order to change the minds of the haters of Jews? Punishing them will only increase their suspicions of Jews being against them.

Before this blog featured an interview with Henri Markens, the former principal of a Jewish school in Amsterdam. Last week a Jewish school, Rosj Pina, saw its pupils harrassed (Dutch) by what was identified as youth of Muslim origin, during a public walking event. This has been happening since 2005. Schools are withdrawing from the public walking event because of this and many other incidents of disorderly behaviour by Amsterdam youth.

A while ago this blog featured exerpts from an interview with Mr. Henri Markens, a principal of a Jewish school in Amsterdam. At the time a commenter, Rob, questioned the representativity of Mr. Markens. I corraborated Mr. Markens' story with another article on the threat from Muslims to Jews in The Netherlands. Esther's Islam in Europe Blog today had another recent article from Leftist daily Het Parool and it again very bluntly shows the danger to the Jewish minority by the Muslim minority.

It does not matter whether this blogger brings this story out of concern for the Jews or out of enmity to the Muslims. The bigger point is that the multicultural ideology is wrong. Different cultures in the same social and political space can be toxic to each other. Separating cultures and nations keeps the peace.

Jews in a Multi-cultural society

On the website of the Global Institute for Jewish Affairs I found an interview with Henri Markens, a Dutch Jew and community representative. Mr. Markens is also the former principal of a Jewish High School in Amsterdam-South, the area in The Netherlands with the highest concentration of Jews. He was the principal of the Joods Lyceum Maimonides until 2006. In the interview he speaks rather candidly of the issues confronting the Jewish community in The Netherlands these days.

On Muslim immigration:

The immigration of Muslims and the rise of Islam in the Netherlands have created problems for the Jewish community and will continue to do so. There are about one million Muslims in the Netherlands. Their influence on the political system is increasing. This cannot be positive for the Jews. The more power the Muslim community gains, the more it will weaken the Jewish community's relations with a number of ministries.

The Jewish community faces increasing anti-Semitism. This has led to enhanced security measures. It also threatens to intensify attitudes based on fear.

On the encroachment on the constitutional right of citizens to have their confessional schools* by the state as a result of problems with Muslim integration:

I showed in particular to Verdonk, who was then integration minister, and Hirsi Ali that the Jewish community is fully integrated into Dutch society yet has still maintained its own identity. This contrasts with the integration problems of parts of the country's Muslim community.

When Hirsi Ali visited the school, the main discussion took place with the students. She claimed that the school only has the right to exist if it accepts non-Jewish students as well. The pupils disagreed strongly with this. They criticized her approach and said that they have the right to their own school and to live in their own culture, as long as they do not offend anyone else.

One of the reasons I invited Hirsi Ali to the school was to show her that the problems she knows from the Muslim world do not occur among Jews. The Muslim population in the Netherlands is only partly integrated into Dutch society. Muslim youth are a source of trouble in many cities, especially Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

I do not exclude the possibility that in the future there will be political attempts to abolish religious schools, or at least put major limitations on them. I wanted to preempt that by showing politicians how our school functions within the Jewish community and Dutch society.

The future of the Jewish community in The Netherlands:

I am not optimistic about the future of Dutch society. In 2003 we had visits at our school by Rob Oudkerk, then alderman of education from the Labor Party, and Lodewijk Asscher, who is now deputy mayor of Amsterdam representing the same party but at that time was the party's faction chairman.

We told them how our pupils experience the increasing anti-Semitism in Amsterdam. This trend still continues. In 2005, near the metro station in Amstelveen where many middle-class Jews live, one of our pupils was beaten up by three or four non-Western immigrants. He was wearing a Star of David. An incident of this kind at that place was unusual. It is much more common that such things happen in Amsterdam proper. The closer one comes to the center of the city, the more dangerous the situation becomes.

The phenomenon is more severe than the beating itself. I consider mental abuse to be more serious than physical harm. The consequences of the beating can be healed in an hour or at most a few months. The emotional abuse is frightening and one starts to behave accordingly. In the past a number of students wore kippot when traveling from school to the Amsterdam central station. Today this is no longer possible.

On Mayor Cohen, the ethnically Jewish Mayor of Amsterdam:

In 2003 our school celebrated its seventy-fifth year. The mayor of Amsterdam, Job Cohen, gave the opening speech at the festive ceremony. Although he is halachically Jewish, it was clear that he doesn't identify in any way with the Jewish community. He did not say ‘we as Jews' but ‘you, as a Jewish community.'

In that he differs greatly from one of his Jewish predecessors, Eduard van Thijn, who was mayor of Amsterdam from 1983 to 1994. On the occasion of a lecture on National Memorial Day on 4 May, he told of his experiences during World War II and in his school years. He mentioned that he had had little connection with Judaism, his parents having abandoned any Jewish practice and even concealed their identity as Jews. When he became mayor, however, he realized his true identity and started to take lessons in Judaism.

When Cohen visited our school we spoke about the problem of anti-Semitism, which preoccupies us. He knew that our pupils were beaten occasionally. I let pupils who had experienced this tell him about it. He gave the impression that he was not at all shocked. In this context he presents himself as a man with no emotions who says he is trying to keep a society together, when in reality it already has not been together for a long time.

This makes me think about the late Schelto Patijn, Cohen's predecessor, who was Amsterdam's mayor from 1994 to 2000. He was not only very pleasant but also showed a genuine interest in the Jewish community. As far as security was concerned he was always open to the specific needs of Jews as he knew that these were real. I once said to him-the only non-Jewish mayor Amsterdam has had for a long time-‘it almost seems that you are Jewish.'

His approach was totally different from Cohen's. In recent years there has been much more need for the security of Jewish buildings than in Patijn's time. As the mayor is head of the police, one must address him for extra protection. Cohen referred us to the education and interior ministries. They referred us back to the Amsterdam municipality. Ultimately both the municipality and the ministries helped us, but it took a very long time.

According to Dr. Lizzy van Leeuwen Geert Wilders' grandmother on his mother's side is Johanna Meijer a Jewess. The maternal grandfather of Mr. Wilders married Johanna Meijer in Indonesia during the colonial era. Appearently the Meijer family was a well-know Dutch-Jewish family in Indonesia.

The article charges into the ridiculous when Dr. van Leeuwen also states that Mr. Wilders peroxides his hair in order to hide his non-white Indonesian ancestry. O, and Dr. van Leeuwen mentions that many Dutch people in the Dutch East Indies supported the Dutch Facist Movement (NSB). What the ....?

Anyway. Here is a picture of Wilders as an 18 year old on his Kibbutz in Israel. With his original hair colour.

European Jewish Congress Frets

Right-wing advance scare organized European Jews

On 9 June the European Jewish congress (EJC), a Paris-based umbrella, released a message stating that:

The success of such rabid groups as The Freedom Party in the Netherlands, the Freedom Party in Austria, the Danish People's Party, the British National Party, and Jobbik in Hungary, among others, will sadly only serve to embolden those who espouse the dangerous concepts of extreme nationalism, racism, anti-Semitism and xenophobia

It has a lot to do with the unviability of Multicultural societies, which have a tendency to dissolve in squabbling tribes combined with the dissolving of financial "glue" of society due to the financial crisis.

The way to deal with it according to the EJC is more repression of the majority ethnic groups:

On behalf of minority communities throughout Europe, we strongly urge the new European Parliament and European Commission to support the implementation and enforcement of comprehensive legislation dealing with racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism.

Such an approach may backfire.

First the Danish People Party and now the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV), both parties with strong Pro-Israeli stances have been taken off the list since 9 June.

Britain's Chief Rabbi slams Multiculturalism

Britain's top Rabbi Jonathan Sacks denounces Multiculturalism:

Liberal democracy is in danger,

Sacks said, adding later:

The politics of freedom risks descending into the politics of fear.

Sacks said Britain's politics had been poisoned by the rise of identity politics, as minorities and aggrieved groups jockeyed first for rights, then for special treatment.

The process, he said, began with Jews, before being taken up by blacks, women and gays. He said the effect had been

inexorably divisive.

A culture of victimhood sets group against group, each claiming that its pain, injury, oppression, humiliation is greater than that of others, he said.

That the Rabbi identifies the Jews as the first to take up multi-culturalism requires special emphasis. Next the question pops up: "why is the Rabbi abandoning multi-culturalism"?

Multi-culturalism involves abandoning the historic ethnic and cultural core of Western nations. It justifies mass immigration and condemns opposition to immigration as 'racist'.

The particular content of immigration in Europe is overwhelmingly Islamic. Muslims are becoming an important factor to take into account in elections in France, The Netherlands, Belgium and Britain. Due to the hostility of the Muslims towards Jews in particular parties looking to woo voters have to abandon support for Israel. This leads to Israel's cut off from alliances with nearby European countries and reliance on the far-away US, whose position is weakening globally, due to military, economic and political shortcomings.

The Conservative Muslim council, a consultory body to the British Conservative Party recently released a report stating amongst others:

The Conservative Muslim Forum also wants the compulsory history curriculum in schools changed to give "full recognition to the massive contribution that Islam has made to the development of Western civilisation

AND

Regardless of whether one finds Israel a congenial country or not, on any objective assessment of the type of unqualified support given to Israel by the current government it is not conducive to British national interests as this could damage Britain's relationships with 15 billion Muslims (Sic!) worldwide, including those in Britain

Also Jewish citizens of European states become under threat of violent Muslim citizens, which can be seen most strikingly in France. This takes the shape of opportunistic street crime.

In conclusion: there are good reasons for the leaders of European Jewish communities to review their support for Multiculturalism and mass-immigration. In my view alignment of Jewish communities with nationalist movements in Europe must begin with affirmation of the historic ethnic and cultural core of European nations, by Jewish leaders.

Culture Wars

In the US and the rest of What Was Formerly Known As The Christendom it is the season for Christmas. And therefore also the Christmas war is heating up. Steve Sailer and (Jewish) Burt Prelutsky both wrote articles poining out that the secularist campaign against Christmas in the name of separation of State and Church and MultiCulturalism is led by Jews. Secular American Jews forming majorities in the membership of organisations such as ACLU, are turning increasingly anti-Christian, much in the way the Kemalist Turkish elite is Anti-Islam. Writes Prelutsky:

And I blame my fellow Jews. When it comes to pushing the multicultural, anti-Christian agenda, you find Jewish judges, Jewish journalists, and the American Civil Liberties Union, at the forefront.

Both Prelutsky and Sailer show that this was not always the case and insist that Jewish songwriters produce the most beautiful Christmas songs in the 1930 and 1940s.

But something has changed.

Sailer writes:

American Jews, those exemplars of successful assimilation now seem to be de-assimilating emotionally, becoming increasingly resentful, at this late date, of their fellow Americans for celebrating Christmas

His reasoning is that organised American Jewry have become so blatantly opposed to the traditions of the American Majority is because of their awesome political and economical power.
And having exercised this power for a long time they have become intoxicated with it. And now they are stumbling and making mistakes and slurring their speech.

The "intoxicated with power argument" is a strong one and it does explain why American Jewry is not holding itself back from embarking on this course. A course steering through a channel strewn with underwater obstacles endangering their ship, its crew and its beautiful 3,000 year old cargo of culture and history.

But this intoxication argument does not provide a motivator.

In "North of South" S. Naipaul writes an intimate documentary on Eastern Africa and its people in the late 70ties. Because of his Indian roots, Naipaul pay special attention to the Indians he meets on his voyage. One of his more harrowing scenes is his meeting with a "blood brother", a lone Indian, Karim Lalji, in Tanzania. Karim is left behind when most Middleman Minority Indians are ethnically cleansed from Tanzania after independence. Karim is living with Africans and in a permanent state of drunken despondency. His community, his life has vanished. His property has been taken from him. The story ends: "I could not help Karim Lalji. No one could. Africa had closed in over him".

It is not the Orthodox Jews who wage war on Christmas. Some of the orthodox like Rabbi Lapin are actually coming to the aid of Christian tradition in America. Their numbers are stable, growing even.

Abe Foxman and the alliance against Christmas are secularist. Atheists. Progressives. They are not passing on Jiddishkeit on to their children. Their grandchildren have no affinity with things Jewish and are intermarrying with the Goyim at a 50 percent rate. White America is closing in over them.

The War on Christmas is their last desparate call to rally the Tribe around the Arc of the Convenant and to go under as Jews.
