Immigrant Dutch seek training for Jihad

Kenya arrested four travellers headed for a Jihadist training camp in Somalia (HT Esther).

Four Dutch citizens have been arrested in Kenya for "possible involvement in terrorism", the prosecution service in the Netherlands said on Wednesday.

"According to Kenyan authorities, the four were arrested on the border of Kenya and Somalia," last Friday, it said in a statement. "They are alleged to have been on their way to a jihadist training camp.

"An investigation has been launched by national police (in the Netherlands) into their possible involvement in terrorism."

An investigation has been launched by Dutch police into the activities of the four, who are expected to be sent back home, according to prosecution spokeswoman Marieke van der Molen.

She added that the Netherlands retained jurisdiction to prosecute its nationals alleged to have committed crimes abroad. Officials declined to give more details on the suspects including their genders.

While prosecutors identified them all as Dutch nationals, the Dutch foreign affairs ministry said the four included three citizens and a Moroccan with Dutch residence status.

According to Dutch press reports the four included no ethnic Dutchmen, the ethnic backgrounds of the four were Somali and Moroccan. It is unclear if the four were seeking to wage Jihad in The Netherlands or elswhere after finishing their training.

The liberal Huffington Post featured an article on homophobia in Amsterdam under the heading "Muslim Mayor's Gay Rights Drive Fights Homophobia In Conservative Amsterdam Suburb". When I first saw the title I wondered what Conservative Suburb Amsterdam has that had escaped my attention. Reading the article it turned out that it was Slotervaart, a borough of Amsterdam proper.

It seems the Huffington Post has picked up on the phenomenon of gay bashing in Amsterdam.

What they forget to mention is that the people who are homophobic and commit the gaybashing are also a voting block for Labour, the Greens and other parties in the Multiculturalist vanguard. And these liberal parties are eerily quiet when it comes to pointing out the illiberalism of the majority of immigrants.

Whether it is Liberal politicians in Europe or Liberal newspapers in the US, they work in concert towards the same goal. The destruction of Western society by any means necessary.

Are Dutch citizens becoming more patriotic or do they support strengthening of the power of transnational political bodies?

Researchers inventoried patriotic attitudes of citizens

Researchers from the MigrantenStudies institute inventoried political attitudes of Dutch citizens. The compared attitudes in 2006 with those of 1995. Results were broken down according to educational levels.

The higher educated, the more patriotic

The results show that patriotic attitudes are growing, particularly amongst citizens with MA or BA level education. In 1995 lower educated citizens were most patriotic, medium educated citizens less patriotic and highly educated citizens least patriotic. This scheme has now reversed, with the higher the educational attainments the stronger patriotic sentiments are. This is expressed in stating agreement with statements such "I am proud of the my nation". Dutch citizens of medium education are also becoming more intensely patriotic, but not as much as the highly educated.

Dutch citizens of low educational attainment remain stable in their patriotism or show a slight decline.

At odds

The political elite seems at odds with the citizenry, about the course of political intergration.

White males are the carriers of original sin in Liberal theology. For Liberals women and minorities have victim status. Victim status is the weapon of choice to clobber white males with. Victim status groups are "protected classes" under the rule of Liberalism and they are the core adherents.

I ask this because the gaybashers scouring Amsterdam generally belong to the Muslim minority, which is approximately 25 percent of the population of Amsterdam and growing.

What happened was: one of the organizers of the Gay Pride, Mr. Hugo Braakhuis, was beaten up at a popular nightlife venue in the centre of our fair city, called Rembrandsplein. This happened when Mr. Braakhuis was taking leave of a friend at four in the morning. The men had been kissing. Mr. Braakhuis' friend received injuries and both were called "dirty fag" and worse.

The Amsterdam respons

The respons of the Amsterdam City Council to these events has been to install CCTV security cameras at gay venues and stepping up police patrolling in these areas.

But these measure cannot stop the gay bashing, nor the publicity about the gay bashing. At some point it will become more and more known that Amsterdam is a dangerous place for gays and the city will lose its appeal to gay tourists.

At this point the City can always start marketing the city to masochist tourists. Amsterdam, the city were you can be beaten up for free. Its better than bull running in Pamplona!

Multiculturalism, the belief that all cultures are compatible with Western culture always had at its core a strong element of masochism. However, there are indications that Dutch gays are in doubt. Polls by Gay Magazine "De Gaykrant" (Dutch) show that a quarter of Dutch gays support the Freedom Party.

And that is the best description of Liberalism in Multicultural Holland. It is being doubted by its core adherents.

Muslims, immigrants, public charges or not?

Muslim and other immigrants a boon to the receiving nation?

Yesterday IslaminEurope - Commentary featured a story on the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV) asking Dutch Ministers to calculate the costs and revenues of immigration. Later yesterday there was a vote on the issue. All parties were against Dutch Departments to calculate the revenues and costs associated with immigration. All parties apart from the Liberal-Conservative VVD, Wilders' old party.

There was a big show of moral indignation at PVV MP Sietse Fritsma's request. But it is clear that the PVV is not finished. During a speech in Parliament on 18 september last year Mr. Wilders (Dutch) said:

This Multicultural society is a expensive hobby. A Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB) study of a few years ago has shown that the average non-western immigrant family casts the Dutch taxpayer 230.000 euro.

The strategy of Mr. Wilders

The PVV is going to make this matter of whether immigrants are public charges the main issue in the rest of the year and leading up to the 2010 election. We have not heard the last of this.

The other parties are going to be in a lot of trouble over this. Them trying to keep the facts under wraps makes them look vicious and deceitful. And once the facts are out Multicultural society will have taken a crippling injury.

Hells Angels become untouchable

This blog recently featured a post on the Danish Hells Angels. The Dutch Chapter of the Hells Angels are the HQ for the European Hells Angels organisation. The Hells Angels are believed to be an important crime syndicated trading in drugs, involved in prostitution and in assassinations.

The last few years the Office of the Public Prosecutor (OM)has made very serious efforts to dissolve the organisation and have it declared outside of the law.

These efforts are now coming to an end with the Dutch Supreme Court coming to the aid of the Hells Angels:

Hells Angels win another Dutch legal battle

The Dutch Supreme Court refused Friday to outlaw a local branch of the Hells Angles in the motorcycle club's latest legal victory.

The country's highest judicial panel said prosecutors failed to prove their claim that the Harlingen Hells Angels chapter in the northern Netherlands is a threat to public order and should be disbanded.

The Supreme Court's ruling upheld two lower courts' decisions.

It said the club may be involved in undesirable and possibly criminal activities, but they are not serious enough to merit a total ban.

A ban "is a serious infringement of the freedom to gather that is at the foundation of a democratic state," the court said in its written ruling.

The court also rejected prosecutors' attempts to link the Harlingen chapter to alleged criminal activity of Hells Angels elsewhere in the Netherlands and the rest of the world, saying links between the local chapter and other groups were not close enough.

Dutch Hells Angels have won a string of cases against prosecutors trying to ban them, but Friday's was the first in the country's highest court.

A parliamentary inquiry in 1995 found the Hells Angels was a criminal organization involved in the drug trade and smuggling women for prostitution, but no action was taken to ban the group.

The Harlingen chapter's club house was raided in 2005 as part of a large-scale investigation into allegations of extortion, intimidation, weapons and drugs trafficking.

That investigation followed the murder of three members of the gang in the south of the Netherlands in 2004, allegedly by fellow bikers.

The Hells Angels in the court room reacted with great show of happiness to the verdict of the judge falling in each others arms like Russian soldiers in a 1940ies Soviet War movie.

The Borjas question: do immigrants pay for their stay?

The US economist George J. Borjas did research to answer the question who profits by immigration. His findings are contrary to the message of the Multiculturalists. He concluded that it is mostly the immigrants who benefit by their wages. Also employers who employ immigrants will benefit, or they would not do it.

What about Europe and The Netherlands?

In the last month Freedom Party MP Sietse Fritsma has been asking Dutch government ministries what their immigrant related costs are and how they relate to the costs of native Dutchmen. He has also asked questions about the revenue of the state related to immigrants. He has forecast the result that immigrants ON AVERAGE cost more than they bring in.

Previously there have been studies undertaken. In 1999 Dutch economist and journalist Pieter Lakeman published a book that estimated the directly attributable cost of immigration at 70 billion guilders in 30 years. The total costs will be much higher.

Euwals, Rodenburg and ter Rele wrote a study, immigration and the Dutch economy, which also concluded that an average 25 year old non-western immigrant constitutes a net loss to the tax payer of a 100.000 euros in his life time. Here is an abstract of the study of the costs of immigrants in Dutch. While the average 25 year old Dutchmen (including immigrant stock!) creates a surplus of 165.000 euros. And the 25 year old immigrant is the best case. All the other ages are more costly. The report also warns that these costs do not include the expected "family reunification" costs of wife and children!

Immigration is priceless

There are other costs not vectored in. Such as loss of security due to high crime. Loss of political rights for the native population due to political-correctness and imposition of Sharia.

What answer will the Freedom Party get?

The media are already speculating that the Ministers and civil servants will not answer the questions that Sietse Fritsma has fielded. But Mr. Fritsma and his fellows will continue to ask this question and the avoidance of the answers will be noticed and interpreted by the voters.

More and more of them will conclude that there is no benefit to immigration. And that the assurance by politicians that immigrants will pay for their old age is a lie.

Westerners generally subscribe to the notion that it is wrong to discriminate. Since the 80ies discrimination has become illegal in most countries. Including the Netherlands.

Whose racism wins out?

Browsing a newspaper in the supermarkt today I noticed a story on a chain of shops where a manager had sent out an e-mail with recruitment instructions to 31 stores. In bolded print the message stated "no Morroccans". The story was featured a few days ago on IslaminEurope by Esther.

The article 1 offices brought the case under the attention of the media. The newspapers are trying to hype the story. The manager who wrote the mail out was not fired. Neither was the HRM-assistant who forwarded the mail without comment.

If people are discriminated against they can turn to a network of 45 anti-discrimination offices. The offices are called Article 1 after the first article of the Dutch constitution, which was amended in 1983 to outlaw discrimination by private citizens.

Affirmative Action is also discrimination

But the state has a program to promote the hiring of women and minorities. E.g. interior Minister Guusje ter Horst carries out her instructions to employ fifty percent women and minority police chiefs with enthusiasm as has been repeatedly reported on this blog. This is discriminates against men. But men can not turn to the Article 1 offices, because these will say it is okay if the state discriminate against them. Discrimination is only bad if the citizens discriminate.

But what is the greater danger? When the powerful state using citizen funding discriminates? Or when a private citizen using his own money does it?

The danger is to the social capital of the nation. With these blatant double standards and abuses of power, the trust between the state and the citizenry evaporates.

Marxist rethoric losing its appeal

The Article 1 offices are conducting a advertizing campaign to make minorities and women aware they have the state behind them if they are discriminated against. The campaign against the supermarket is co-ordinated with that media blitz. What is remarkable is that the power of the article 1 lobby to convince Dutchmen that they are bad if they discriminate is waning. Comment sections in the newspapers show that a considerable portion of the public understands what motivated the supermarket to exclude Moroccans.

If this trend continues the days of the Multicultural society in The Netherlands are numbered.

With the question of care in old age solved by the State, procreation to ensure offspring that will be responsible for old-age care is no longer required for German citizens. German birthrates have fallen to 1.4 child per woman, below the 2.1 replacement rate.

Recession hits workers, but not pensioners

With the current recession many Germans are falling on hard times. Many lose their jobs, others are on short time contracts and others see their incomes falling. But the German state is guarantueeing the income of its pensioners. In fact the pensions of West-German pensioners are set to rise by 2.4 percent. And East-German pensioners get a whopping 3.4 percent rise of their pensions.

The funds have to be coughed up by the 25 to 35 year olds. Herr Finance Minister Steinbrück stated that this is a wrong signal to

the 25 to 35 year old cohort, who have to bring children (German) in the world. For this generation we ought to care more.

As Germany's population is aging, the vote of pensioners becomes more and more important for political parties. The pensioners seem to be careless of the future of their children and the German nation. Unlike e.g. The Netherlands or France which seek to prop up the native birthrate such measures are taboo in Germany. Birth rate increasing policies are connected to the days of the reign of the Nazi Party, which wanted a growing population to populate conquered territories in the East.

At some point these taboos will have to be addressed or the German state will not be able sustain to paying worthwhile pensions to its citizens.

A few years ago, on April 9 2006, this blog featured an article on a Dutch book from 1990. The article is titled "Banning speech, banning prophesy".

The article describes the strange case of a book warning the Dutch of what would happen if they would allow Muslim colonization of their land. Many of the prophesies of the author have been fulfilled. E.g.

- there will be more crime, fuelled by moslim crime
- the Dutch will become cynical and untrusting, less gullible

This has already come about. There used to be an English translation online but the webpage disappeared. I found the text in the internet archive and made a new document "Land of naive fools - Downfall of the Netherlands" by Mohammed Rasul as a Google doc. The text can be used as a template for what will happen if any Western country allows itself to be colonized by Muslims.

Liberal soft drug policy is losing its footing

The Netherlands has known a infamously permissive policy on soft drugs in the past thirty years. Weed and mariuana could be sold and bought in "coffee shops". Many towns in The Netherlands have coffee shops and the city of Amsterdam used to boast about 400 coffee shops.

Problems with neighbouring countries

The legal availability of soft drugs led to complaints from European countries in the vicinity of the Netherlands. They blamed that some of their people were addicted as a result of the Dutch policy. The Dutch politicians sat the critisism out, convinced that in time all other nations would become as "progressive" as The Netherlands.


Drugs tourism and organised crime

The legal availability of weed led to a large amount of "drug tourism" to border towns. Citizens of Belgium, France and Germany travelled to these towns to buy and smoke here. This caused soft drug vendors to grow from small café like shops to big and busy mega shops. These shops in the Dutch border areas attract a lot of traffic of customers. Criminals prey on this traffic and the presence of so many stoned people caused all kinds of unpleasantness for citizens in neighbourhoods with licenced drugs vendors. Moreover the shops are often owned by organised crime, who has the capital to invest in licenced drug vendors. According to a government commission things have to tightened up:

The relaxed policy on cannabis and other soft drugs should be made much stricter, in order to limit negative side effects such as drugs tourism and organised crime.

In Amsterdam many soft drug vendors lost their soft drug or their alcohol licence. This caused a number of them to close. It looks like legal changes are now being prepared which will close down coffee shops in the border areas as well, especially the largest vendors.

Licenced drugs vendors, squatter rights, multiculturalism are all introduced in the 1960ies and 1970ies. For a long time they were part of the political orthodoxy and as such unassailable. This is now changing for the better.

After the 2006 national elections the newly formed Dutch coalition government agreed to give a amnesty to 26,000 asylum seekers. Deputy Minister of Justice Nebahat Albayrak today reported to Dutch parliament that over 27,000 asylum seekers (Dutch) have been issued residence permits. All of them will also receive housing by the end of the year. 24,000 already received housing. 6,000 asylum seekers were turned down due to fraudulent paperwork. Those who were turned down are supposed to leave The Netherlands. In practice a significant number of them will become illegal residents and contribute to alieniation and insecurity of Dutch citizens.

There is special hardship in the fact that the apparatchik, Nebahat Albayrak, who is administration the entrance of this host of foreigners descending on the Dutch nation is herself of immigrant stock.

This remark met with well-deserved derision. How can you revolt when you are in charge?

What she meant was of course that the peaceful opposition by a part of the population must be surpressed with force. Such force as was used by Minister ter Horst's police to arrest Dutch Cartoonist Gregorius Nekschot with a swat team of ten police men forcing themselves into his house. Or the threat to reveal his identity so Jihadists would know who to kill.

Liberal psychology

Still, the remark of the revolt of the elite tells something essential about the mindset of the Liberals. The self image of liberals is that they are always outnumbered and besieged, never mind how much their hands clench the reigns of power. No matter how puny the means of their opponents. The liberal giant thinks it is a dwarf.
With such a self-image they can justify the worst abuse of power. To themselves. And it leads the Liberal elite to overreaction and excess, which in the end will enhance the stature of their right-wing opponents.

Dumbing down of education

With the large amounts of immigrants from non-western cultures having settled in The Netherlands come all kinds of practical matters.

Lower achievement in the countries of origin

These people come from Central Asia, North Africa and Sub-saharan Africa and the Middle East. The cultures that these people come from are not noted for a strong emphasis on education. Educational attainment is essential to getting ahead in a modern Western society. Do the immigrants from the abovementioned parts of the globe do well in The Netherlands in the field of education?

Double standards discriminate against Dutch students

The answer has been that overwhelmingly they do not do well at school. Very large numbers of non-western youth drop out of school and are added to the perenially unemployed and often criminal class of society. In order to fix the drop out rate schools are instructed by the national exams commission (CEVO) to allow non-Dutch students to make more spelling mistakes in exams than Dutch students. This is a glaring double standard. Imagine the wave of leftist and liberal hatred if it was discovered it is the other way around.

A laywer, Mr. Roel Schreuders, told the press about the double standards that schools have to employ. He insisted that non-western students may make two to three times as many mistakes as Dutch students.

Real life example

I am not surprised. I know of non-western students who finished polytechnic despite a serious lack of knowledge of the Dutch language. They are not capable of writing business letters, but they are supposed to have written a thesis.

However, the national exams commission (CEVO) insists that the double standards only applies for a small group of students.

According to the theories of military experts such as Mr. Martin van Creveld and Mr. William Lind, wars between states are replaced by conflicts where non-state actors are involved. This is the theory of non-Trinitarian War of Fourth Generation Warfare (4GW). Non-state actors are organisations such as religious organisations, criminal gangs, ethnic groups and other forms of social organisation. Non-state actors are competing with the states for legitimacy in the eyes of the populations they serve. As the story of David and Goliath illustrates the underdog has a greater possibility to win legitimacy than the giant. In any conflict it is therefore important to appear to be an underdog. Use of heavy weapons to achieve goals has to be avoided. Heavy weapons give a contender the appearance of a Goliath. In addition heavy weapons have a tendency to cause unintended victims amongst civilian populations. Good weapons in the effort to win legitimacy are light, precise and easy to hide.



New leadership for European societies

In the previous post "Hells Angels on the March" this blog feature a commentary on a piece by Baron Bodissey of the GoV blog. The piece by Baron Bodissey is titled "Drawing the Line" on Biker War in Denmark and draws an anology on the beginning of the feudal era in Europe and the present day conditions. The idea is that groups like the Hells Angels can be the new leadership of European society, due to their willingness to provide security for the Europeans against Muslims. This while the authorities are losing their legitimacy in the eyes of their populations as they are unwilling to enforce law and order, especially not against non-muslims.

This fits in well with the theories of non-Trinitarian and 4th Generation Warfare.

Still many people cling to the idea of state militaries delivering the West by its fire power. One commenter at GoV called Zenster uses the comment thread on Bikers and Feudal Europe to start advocating his idea of a takeover of the USA by the military. After the coup the military must:

Conduct simultaneous nuclear strikes against Cairo, Damascus, Tehran, Islamabad, Sana'a and Riyadh. Possibly with Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur thrown in for good measure. Then, while Muslims crawl out of the ashes, inform Islam that there's plenty more where that came from while setting about the fortification of Western civilization.

This scenario has nothing to do with Biker gangs providing security to Europeans. But it is also a real bad strategy to gain legitimacy. So I wrote back:

Snouck: lets examine the record of a muslim country with nuclear weapons. Pakistan has had nuclear weapons since 1974. They have not used them.

Your talk of how, "War has a aspect of a duel ..." is sheer nonsense in the modern context of warfare. Were the concept still applicable, American soldiers would be engaging in hand-to-hand combat with the Taliban. A ridiculous notion at best.

Snouck: Zenster misconstrues my statement "war has aspect of a duel" that I think that war must consist of duels. What I mean is that there has to be a perception of equal and fair combat between opposing forces. When this is absent the weaker party feels it is not bound by the same rules since it is set up for defeat in a conventional fight.

However coarse it might sound, war is about killing people. Islam absolutely refuses to field an army in uniform in its assault upon the West. There is a price that must be paid for such perfidy.

What are the targets that Zenster wants to see nuked in muslim capitals?

Islam is clearly fascist in nature and fascism is a bastion of elitism

It is true that Islam is elitist and that removing the most influential imams will leave a vacuum. But Islam does not have a clearly defined hierarchy. If the top imams are removed, imams with less prestige will take their place. They will continue to preach Sharia and Jihad. So a strike will not have a decisive effect. Meanwhile other powers will fear and hate the US for having attacked Islam with nukes. They will be assisted by a backlash against the military government by the population. Isolated at home and abroad the military government of the US will find it impossible to rule. Once they have been removed from power their actions will be the target of the propaganda by the media. The media will show the footage of destroyed muslim cities on TV for years, causing a storm of national self hatred.

I did not pursue the debate with Zenster due to lack of time and the fact that the post had moved beyond the weekly range of posts which is well read by visitors.

Loss of civilizational self confidence

An important cause for the loss of civilisation self confidence was the overstepping of the boundary between state violence against militaries and state violence against civilians. The massacres of civilians in the Soviet camps system, the carpet bombing of cities and the victims of the German camp system during the Second World War undermined the belief of Westerners in Western civilization. Thus the wanton killing of civilians goes against the interest of Western civilizations nation state system.

Better look like David

The interest of the West is best served by a strategy that hurts only the evil doers, such as the terrorists or the muslim criminals that prowl the streets of Europe. The less formidable the force that handles the terrorists the more advantegeous it is. Better look like a herdsman than like a mighty warrior.

Or as the Chinese strategist Sun Tzu said about the art of war:

O divine art of subtlety and secrecy! Through you we learn to be invisible, through you inaudible; and hence we can hold the enemy's fate in our hands

The military organisations of the future will not posess large bases, installations or expensive crew served weapons. They will blend in with the population. Disperse. They will not offer a target for nuclear weapons. That way they remain legitimate and the population will be prepared to support them with funding and recruits.

Western civilization can flourish under those circumstances.

War that is not between states

In order to understand warfare as it is today military theorists such as Israeli Professor Martin van Creveld and American William Lind pioneered new concepts of war such as Non-Trinitarian Warfare and 4th Generation Warfare respectively. In these concepts wars are not just fought between states (Allies against Axis), but also between states and nonstate forces (Israel against Hamas) and sometimes between just non-state actors (Northern Alliance against Al-Qaida in Afghanistan in 2001).

The concept of Non-Trinitarian War as Martin van Creveld calls Non-Trinitarian Warfare is becoming more widely debated lately as evidenced by lively discussions on blogs such as Gates of Vienna recently. The subject is gangwars in Danmark.

The Hell's Angels are a important organized criminal force in Europe. In Denmark the local chapters of the Hell's Angels are under pressure from gangs of immigrants who are fighting with them for territory. The Hells Angels have started a new organisation AK 81 to recruit Danes and add musle to their force, without diluting the cohesion and standing of the core Hells Angels. The cement of the alliance is the notion that both non-criminal ethnic Danes and the Hells Angels are under threat from immigrant gang violence. The Hells Angels can provide leadership and organisation for Danes who want security from the violent ethnic gangs.

Propaganda is the key to win the support of the population

In order to influence public opinion an unnamed author wrote an piece on the danger of the gangs of immigrant thugs to Danish society. The article was published on the website of the Danish Chapter of the Hells Angels and is called the "Jackal Manifesto". It was translated by Henrik Raeder Clausen and the translation was published on the Gates of Vienna (GoV) blog.

Development of Non-Trinitarian Warfare in Denmark and the Future

Next GoV published a piece by the hand of Baron Bodissey titled "Drawing the line".

In "Drawing the line" the Baron draws a parallel between the rise of feudalism after the collapse of the Roman Empire and the rise of Crime Organisations who become protectors of the people.

The debate

I forecast that we will see many more of the ideas of Martin van Creveld debated in the future. The concepts that belong to wars between states do no provide a lot of insight in the conlflicts the West is finding itself in as a result of the actions of Jihadists. This is worsened by the effect on society of Muslim colonisation of Western land as a result of mass immigration.

Moroccan violence, killing unsettles Amsterdam

In the last few days there was an unsettling amount of violence in Amsterdam. The violence was concentrated in a small area. It was all close to the Leidseplein, a area with a large number of bars and restaurants.

The violence is structural. Politicians persist in calling it incidents and go on suggesting remedies which have nothing to do with the underlying ethnic and religious incompatibility.

The victims and the crimes

On 29 June two lesbian women were beaten up. Very serious, one of the women had to be taken to hospital. the beating was very serious. Her friend saved her life, by protecting her by covering her with her own body.
On 4 July a woman, Noëlle, was beaten up. She broke her foot.
On 5 July a man, Rob Sitek, was killed by a taxidriver in a row over the taxifare. The taxidriver, a kickboxer, hit his victim on the head. The victim fell and and hit the curb with his head. He died in hospital a few hours later.

The culprits

In all the cases the culprits were identified as Muslims and more specifically Moroccans.


Violence in a small area

The incident is more poignant due to the fact that the victim is a brother of a ambulance brother who was threatened by Maroccans earlier this year. The brothers are very popular amongst the people in their neighbourhoods.

The widow called on the politicians to solve the problem once and for all so that her daughters would be able to go out safely.

Does one see a pattern here?

The MSM and the politicians try to surpress this news and the identity of the culprits. When populist internet media uncover the truth they obfuscate and propose measures that have no relation to the issue of incompatibility between groups in a Multicultural society.

The Mayor of Amsterdam, Job Cohen has called for a revision of the Taxi Law. The other two assaults are called incidents.

If something happens on a regular basis it is structural not incidental. The Multicultural society has to be denounced for the failure that it is. Those groups who do not fit in must be held under scrutiny and if their reliability is in doubt they must be expelled.

The Wilders effect on Dutch Muslims

The effect of Geert Wilders' rise on Dutch multicultural society

This blog has featured many stories on the phenomenal rise of the Freedom Party (PVV) and the electrifying effect it has had on a section of the Dutch public.

But what about the Muslims in The Netherlands and Islam in Europe? Obviously the rise of a movement hostile to Islam must be a matter of concern, fear and anger to them, right?

Right!

Dutch Muslim politicians think Muslims may turn against society

Rotterdam has a Muslim mayor, the recently appointed Achmed Aboutaleb. A member of Mr. Aboutaleb's council, Turkish Labour aelderman Hamit Karakus (Dutch), gave vent to his feelings. In newspaper "De Volkskrant" he says:

young Muslims (Dutch) do not feel that they are accepted. Young, well educated Muslims wonder whether they have a future in The Netherlands. It may be that this may lead to radicalisation of a small fraction of Muslims in The Netherlands. People who wonder about their future fall back on the certainties of their own group. I can see how the message of radical Muslims strikes a chord amongst a still small, but growing group.

Wilders is responsible for the growing rift between Muslims and indigenous Dutch. Half of the population of Rotterdam has a immigrant origin by now.

Are the words of the professional politician echoed by society?

The opinion of the Muslim in the street

A poll commissioned by a Dutch News and Commentary TV show, called Netwerk, completes the picture painted by the Rotterdam municipal council member.

The Netwerk poll (Dutch) asked 319 Muslims of Moroccan and Turkish origin about their thoughts about The Netherlands since Geert Wilders is becoming popular. Moroccans and Turks constitute seventy percent of all Muslims in The Netherlands.

A majority feels at home, but the trend is downward

The majority (76 percent) of sampled Muslims feel at home in The Netherlands. Half of Dutch Muslims (51 percent) thinks of leaving The Netherlands more and more often.

Dutch Muslims identify less with the Dutch nation. A quarter of those sampled see Dutch as their primary identity. 29 percent felt like that ten years ago. 28 percent feels primarily Muslim, compared with a fifth ten years ago.

A widening rift

The increasing popularity of Geert Wilders amongst the ethnic Dutch hurts the feelings of Dutch Muslims. 57 percent feels less at home. 74 percent thinks the Dutch have a lower opinion of Muslims as a result of Geert Wilders' popularity. 39 percent feels discriminated against more often since Wilders has become a power in Dutch politics.

Fear, uncertainty, doubt

22 percent of Dutch Muslims feels fear. And another 22 percent of sampled Dutch Muslims feel hatred as a result of Geert Wilders' popularity with the ethnic Dutch.

The Muslim in the street agrees with Hamit

The Netwerk poll and the words of Rotterdam Aelderman Hamit Karakus indicate a growing rift between Dutch Muslims and wider society, coinciding with the growing electoral strength of Geert Wilders and the PVV. The Netherlands is becoming a less attractive country for Muslims.

Belgium wants an amnesty for illegal citizens

Anchor children are politicians excuse to legalize law breakers

The Belgian Minister of Migration Annemie Turtelboom wants a amnesty for illegal foreigners residing in Belgium. The amnesty is specifically for illegals with children enrolled in Belgian schools. These families are said to be "anchored in Begian society".

The amnesty is said to concern 4,000 to 8,000 people.

Experience with amnesty's shows that:

-the numbers are always much bigger than expected. E.g. when an Israeli Boeing crashed into a apartment complex in Amsterdam South East, a Black African neighbourhood, the Labour dominated municipality managed to wheedle a blanket amnesty form the national government. The news set of a stampede of often Frenchspeaking Africans from Belgium and France who came looking for an easy quick path to EU citizensship. The number of applications was 1,588. A multiple of the number of people that the apartment complex could accomodate.
-the problems that have been solved by legallizing the illegals are immediately recreated on a larger scale as new illegals pour in due to the expectation that they too have a future as a legal citizen. Amnesty is not really a fix, but an ongoing hollowing out of citizensship of the country that tries it.

Effect larger than Belgium

The amnesty will have an effect on neighbouring countries like France and The Netherlands too. Belgian citizensship is also EU citizensship and these people will be free to settle everywhere in the EU under the 1992 Schengen treaty.

US Forces withdraw from Urban Centres in Iraq

Operational redeployment

The US is withdrawing its troops from Iraq's urban centres. The troops are arrayed in "belts" around towns and cities. The question is whether this is a victory for the US or for its enemies. According to the NewYork Times:

Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki has taken to calling the withdrawal of American combat troops from Iraq’s cities by next Tuesday a “great victory,” a repulsion of foreign occupiers he compares to the rebellion against British troops in 1920.

US political and military leadership is not challenging their supposed ally, Mr. Al-Maliki. (I wrote a post on November 24 2005 advising the strategy of withdrawing US Forces to locations outside the cities.)

The original strategy of the US

The strategy of the US after the attack by the Jihadists on 9-11 consisted of invading Iraq to turn it into a democratic model for the rest of the Middle East. A democratic Iraq would undermine autocratic Middle Eastern regimes and usher in an era of democracy. This democratic era would than take away the "root causes" of Middle Eastern discontent with the West.

Iraq becoming a newer, bigger Lebanon

Rather than becoming a haven for Freedom, Iraq became a violent tangle of sects and tribes. The US was never able to deal with it. After calming the country down after the surge the US military is now leaving the urban centres to the newly constituted Iraqi security forces under the control of Mr. Al-Maliki and the Shia.

Gaining legitimacy in the eyes of the majority sect

Mr. Al-Maliki and his government are now faced with a fight with the Sunni minority. The Sunnis allied themselves with the US during the surge in return for the US paying a tribute. On the other hand Mr. Al-Maliki faces competition for the hearts and minds of the Shia from even more radical elements. For PM Al-Maliki the alliance with the US is increasingly becoming a burden. He needs to divest from the US and strengthen other alliances with local powers. These will be shia Iran (never mind who wins the present power struggle there), the Kurds, Turkey, Jordan and if possible Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states.

The US is facing different set of problems now

Meanwhile in the US the state of California is so broke that it can not cover 25 percent of the budget. The Federal government is refusing to bail out the state. It the Federal government will not bail out California, will it be interested in continuing to pour treasure into Iraq?

This amounts to something bigger than the US defeat in Vietnam. It is like the USSR having to withdraw from its internationalist duty in Afghanistan.

Why did the strategy of democratization fail?

The US leaderhip are so in thrall of the equality dogma, that they failed to take into account that the Middle East belongs to a different Civilization than Eastern Europe, where democratization has proven more successful. The Islamic faith is extremely hostile to Western ideas of government. This makes it difficult to mobilize the population for an effort supporting a Western-led endeavor and easy to mobilize the population to those who are opposed to the West.

Strong support for Freedom Party amongst Christian voters

Dutch political landscape is splintering

The group of Dutch voters loyal to one party is diminishing. More parties are fishing for a share of the voters. It is getting more and more difficult to put together coalitions of 2 parties as was possible until the 90ies. There are seven parties that can count on roughly 18 percent of the electorate. This means coalition must have up to four parties to gain majorities and will lack stability and a mandate.

Christian parties solid political blocks

Of these people who vote for the Christian parties are regarded as a solid block. The largest, Christian Democrats (CDA) is a almagam of older parties, who were devided along confessional lines. Their voter base is shrinking due to deconfessionalisation. There is also the Christian Union (CU) and the SGP. These parties are small, but demografically stable as their electorate has a birth rate that off sets losses due to sheep wandering away from the flock.

Rate of Defection

In spite of the reputation for solidness Christian voters are defecting to the Freedom Party at a considerable rate. Between 15 and 21 percent of those who identify with a confessional political party voted for the Freedom Party.

Ideological opposition to Multiculturalism and Islam

This means that the Christian parties, whose voters are outside the big cities are not safe. Their voting base is concerned about Multiculturalism despite not experiencing it in everyday life.

Right wing moves against criminal aliens

Right wing wants to turn burden of proof against criminal aliens

This blog recently featured stories about criminal Moroccan brothers in Amsterdam, who the police and Immigration Service (IND) wanted to have expelled. The brothers had incredibly long rap sheets. Both are ultra violent. Menaces to society. The were declared undesirable aliens. During the appeal the judge prevented one of the brothers from being expelled, as the IND could not prove that the facts that had been used to show he had no residence permit were correct.

During a debate between Deputy Minister Nabahat Albayrak (Labour) on one hand and Liberal Conservatives (VVD) , Freedom Party (PVV) and other right wingers on the other the notion was put forward that the interest of security of Dutch society takes precedence over the interests of a Criminal Alien (Dutch). The burden of proof for legal presence in The Netherlands should rest on the immigrant, not on the state.

Writing the refersal of the burden of proof into law

This Fall Deputy Minister Nebahat Albayrak, a Labour Party Affirmative Action candidate of Turkish origin, has to come up with a way to write such a refersal of the burden of proof into law.

European Jewish Congress Frets

Right-wing advance scare organized European Jews

On 9 June the European Jewish congress (EJC), a Paris-based umbrella, released a message stating that:

The success of such rabid groups as The Freedom Party in the Netherlands, the Freedom Party in Austria, the Danish People's Party, the British National Party, and Jobbik in Hungary, among others, will sadly only serve to embolden those who espouse the dangerous concepts of extreme nationalism, racism, anti-Semitism and xenophobia

It has a lot to do with the unviability of Multicultural societies, which have a tendency to dissolve in squabbling tribes combined with the dissolving of financial "glue" of society due to the financial crisis.

The way to deal with it according to the EJC is more repression of the majority ethnic groups:

On behalf of minority communities throughout Europe, we strongly urge the new European Parliament and European Commission to support the implementation and enforcement of comprehensive legislation dealing with racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism.

Such an approach may backfire.

First the Danish People Party and now the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV), both parties with strong Pro-Israeli stances have been taken off the list since 9 June.

Freedom of Speech in The Netherlands

Freedom of Speech is important in orienting society

In a democratic society the people are involved in steering the Nation. This makes it important that the people can orient themselves on where the Nation has to go. In order to orient, there must be Freedom of Speech concerning all matters pertaining to the state of the Nation. If there is a narrow judicial elite which decides on what can and cannot be said it will be impossible for the people to know what issues are and so it is really those who set the boundaries of debate who set the course.

Multicultural society overwhelmed by disfunctionality and the Dutch backlash

Issues of disfunctionality of Dutch Multicultural Society could not be publicly addressed after limitations on the Freedom of Speech were initiated by lawmakers in 1983. This led to disfunctionality overwhelming the densely populated country, which has a cultural tradition of extreme bluntness and outspokenness. The dam burst in 2001 with the gains made by the populist Pim Fortuyn and his party. Mr. Fortuyn's assassination ended the immediate consequences of the power gained by him and his followers.

Running into the boundaries of Political Expression

Since then especially Mr. Geert Wilders has been fuelling the debate concerning the threat of Islam against The Netherlands. Mr. Wilders has run into the boundaries of Free Speech. Because the ability to speak one's mind is a important cultural value in The Netherlands, people is receiving more and more support from well educated Dutch citizens. They see him as a defender of their Freedom.

Stealing Wilders' Thunder

Mr. Wilder's old party, the Liberal-Conservative VVD is losing these affluent voters. Freedom of Speech is a value that fits well into their program and in late May, just before the European elections the VVD-leader Mark Rutte came out with a proposal to completely decriminalize speech.

Mr. Mark Rutte announced his proposal for full Freedom of Speech and was subsequently interviewed on Dutch TV show Knevel en van den Brink. During the interview Mr. Rutte defended full Freedom of Speech, including the Freedom of Imams to call gays inherently sinfull, similar to the homosexual Mr. Fortuyn, who had said:

Imams should have the freedom to call me a pig and I should have the freedom to call their religion backward.

A full transcript of the Freedom of Speech interview is at Danish blog Balder. Remarkably Mr. Rutte also said:

Well there are idiots who deny the holocaust, I would want to know who that is, then I can show them; boys, I got a whole library full of evidence, and there are still people alive who went through all those horrible things, or lost members of their family, let's look at the facts.

This was picked up by the media who made a lot of hay against Mr. Rutte and his idea to decriminalize political speech. Former VVD leader Bolkestein, Wilders' mentor, supported decriminalizing political speech on June 3rd. Mr. Rutte must have been thunderstruck when the Freedom Party (PVV) declared being against the freedom to deny the Holocaust! This most likely in order not to lose PVV's halo as a Pro-Israeli and generally Jew-friendly party.

In the end the hullabaloo died down within a few days. The PVV achieved a historic victory in the European elections on June 4th. And the VVD did not as badly as expected, so perhaps their move to protect Freedom of Speech did pay off after all. This possibility will not have escaped the political strategists at the headquarters of Dutch political parties, especially PVV and VVD. headquarters. It is therefore to be expected that support for Freedom of Speech will continue to be strong in the future.

According to the European Central Bank (ECB):

House prices in the Netherlands have gone down just 0.3% in the first three months of this year

However according to the Dutch Realtor Association NVM prices fell by 3.1 percent in the same period. The ECB further stated that:

national figures and its own calculations showed prices were falling year-on-year in at least six of the 16 nations sharing the common currency and worse was to come.

According to an article on hyped.nl (Dutch) the Freedom Party (pvv.nl) website has become the most popular website political to a political party measured by monthly traffic in 2009. The visitor counter has passed the five million. Pvv.nl got 30.000 visitors per day during the European election campaign, slightly better than the D66 website, which was the next best contender.

Affirmative Action in the Dutch Police

Increasing the number of women and minority policemen

The highest principle of Liberalism is the law of non-discrimination. This makes Liberalism a reality denying creed. People are unequal.

This blog previously featured articles "affirmative" hiring of women and minorities by Interior Minister Guusje ter Horst in the "White men rule" and "White men rule 2" miniseries. The goal of the Department of the Interior is to employ 15 percent women and minority candidates by 2010. The Minister of the Interior can not find suitable candidates and as a result she is losing the support of Parliament.

The Amsterdam Police Department (APD)

The scandal is now moving from the ministerial level to the level of high ranking functionaries. The Department of the Interior today made public that the Police Chief of Amsterdam, Bernard Welten (Dutch), had budgetted a sum of 3.2 million Euros to find ten candidates for top positions in the Amsterdam police. That is 320.000 euros per functionary.

And this is at a time when the Department of the Interior is slashing the budget for entry level policemen. Large numbers of people have to enter the police as a significant part of the force is retiring in two years! This economy is meant to cut the budget by 190 million Euros. If all 25 Police Departments would spend 3.2 million Euros to recruit Affirmative Action candidates it would cost 80 million euros. That is forty percent of the entry level policemen cut!

The news was picked up by "De Telegraaf" newspaper. The spokeswoman of Bernard Welten (Dutch) quickly came with something of a retraction. The actual amount that will be spend on recruiting the ten candidates will be less than 3.2 million Euros. Which is a liberally vague statement.

What does a 320,000 Euro premium tell us about equality?

Nevertheless the fact that it costs such an amount of money to find these candidates is evidence of how rare these candidates are. PC savvy functionaries are using the funding entrusted to them to buy away candidates before other Police Departments put their hands on them. Rather than using the money to increase the sustainable security of the citizenry.

The Affirmative Action target is unrealistic and crime fighting ought to be far higher on the list of priorities in crime ridden Amsterdam.

Freedom Party's program moving into the mainstream

Making friends and influencing people

Political power is not just the power to be in government and to make laws and policy. It is about influencing society as a whole and in particular other political parties.

Addressing voter's concerns by offering alternatives

Under the reign of Liberalism the cartel of political parties would look the other way if certain phenomena ran counter to the dogma of radical egalitarianism. Parties would not be corrected by the voters, as voters were not offered policy alternatives. This was the situation before 2006 after the Fortuynists had destroyed themselves and before Geert Wilders formed his Freedom Party.

The level of Immigration

For instance, citizens concerned with the overwhelming numbers of immigrants coming to The Netherlands would not be able to express their concern through the ballot box. There was no party stating that immigration was a problem, and there was no party offering policy countering immigration.

The value of real opposition

With the election of the Freedom Party PVV to Dutch Parliament this has changed. The other parties have taken notice. The Liberal-Conservative VVD party is concerned about losing their voters to the PVV. To counter the threat they are copying a positions that the PVV has pioneered. However, they do this with a typical lack of conviction (Dutch). Perhaps they are testing the waters?

Giving the old right a right wing profile

The man who has to give the VVD a rightwinged profile again is Mr. Paul de Krom. Recently he took issue with a report by Minister Eduard van der Laan of Integration. Minister van der Laan presented to Parliament research by a thinktank of the Ministry of Justice, the WODC. This is the Research and Documentation Centre. The thinktank reported that the number of immigrants had fallen after 2001. After 2005 it rose again to a whopping 140.000 in 2008. This relative to a 16 million population.

This is mainly caused by labour migration from counties in Eastern Europe, whose citizens can enter without applying for a permit. The succesful policy against marriage migration from Turkey and Morocco is losing its effectiveness, particularly by Muslims finding brides from other Middle Eastern countries.

The thinktank says that the government has no real influence on the number of immigrants settling within the Dutch borders. And the Minister of Integration says that it will be impossible to integrate such numbers of immigrants.

Mr. De Krom said:

The goal: assimilation of immigrant communities

Mr. De Krom has uttered other assimilationist remarks: closing Islamic schools, limiting benefits to migrants, no child support for polygamous families, no tax money to support pensions of immigrants, against influence of the Moroccan State on European politics, against the Burqa, calculating the expenses of the 2006 amnesty for asylum seekers, closing the borders to uneducated immigrants and outlawing the possibility of double nationality.

The goal of the VVD is assimilation. This is a departure of the Multiculturalist policy that all parties supported before 2001. The present centrist government is failing to defend the nation, despite the fact that it has inherited a toolbox of effective policies against migration.

The fact that other parties are adopting the rethoric of the Freedom Party shows the way to a new government coalition after the elections in 2010. Which would be the crown on Mr. Wilders' work since he left the VVD in 2006.

Belgium: the left and the right growing and splintering

Similar to what is happening in The Netherlands, to the North of Belgium, in politics the center is weakening and splinters are forming in the wings.

Belgium's communities

Belgium is devided in the Flemish North and the Walloon South. The Flemish speak Dutch, the Walloons speak French. Traditionally the country was Walloon dominated. Since the 1970ies the Flemish part has become economically dominant. But this is only very slowly translating into political gains for the Flemish. Increasingly however the Flemish are turning their backs on the Walloons. The Walloons have never been much interested in Flanders, apart from Flanders as a source of income transfers.

Sponging Wallons find a new sponge

This is evidenced by the dominance of the Socialist Party in Wallonia. The 19th century heavy industry has become a grave yard. The workers are laid off. Their unemployment benefits are unaffordable for Wallonia. Dynamic Flanders makes up the balance in the name of "solidarity". Socialist dominated Wallon society is never reformed and it has become a backward, socially and morally bankrupt rust belt.

The elections in Wallonia for the Wallons parliament saw gains at the expense of the Socialist Party by the Greens (Ecolo). The Wallons are voting for a new sponge with a different colour. It is still a sponge.

Dynamic Flemish inch towards the right

The Flemish nationalist Vlaams Belang of Filip DeWinter lost both in the European Parliament elections and the Flemish Parliament elections. Their voters were picked up by "Lijst DeDecker" and the "NV-A". They are both right-wing parties, expousing anti-socialist and Libertarian positions. They agree with Vlaams Belang on more autonomy for Flanders. However they are much more moderate with regards to immigration and Islamisation. The Flemish centrist parties were further weakened.

It will continue to be difficult to form governments in Belgium. The authority of government coalitions which can be put together will be low. The attitude of the Wallons voters seems unchanged. In Flanders the retreat of the Vlaams Belang is remarkable. It is the first retreat of the Vlaams Belang. It may be interpreted that under the influence of the world wide recession Flemish voters (Dutch) are more interested in economic issues than in issues of culture and identity.

Expelling criminal foreigners and public charges

Incredibly violent criminal foreigners

In the middle of April I blogged on the case of two Muslim brothers from Amsterdam-West. They had criminal records of more than 300 items. And no Dutch nationality. And had even forgotten to renew their permit to stay. In a sane world it would be obvious: expell the brothers.

Appeal, appeal!

However we live in a world of crazy ideologues. One of the brother immediately succesfully appealled the decision by the Immigration Service (IND). The other brother did the same and yesterday a judge (Dutch) decided in his favour. He is not yet saved though. He will get an extension of his stay and his permit will be reconsidered.

What does this mean?

Obviously this is nuts. They are public charges. These chaps are very violent. They have no conideration for the lives and property of other citizens. They are undisirables. They do not have Dutch nationality. So if the judge were to take into acoount the interests of Dutch citizens and the obvious fact that the brothers consider other citizens rights as non-existent it would be best to protect society by expelling the brothers.

And yet there is light

Realize that the police is throwing its weight behind having these criminals removed, in ADDITION to the efforts by the Immigration Service. The civil servants of the Immigration Service have often shown their willingness to revoke the permits of immigrants on grounds of principle. In fact one of the parlementarians of the Freedom Party (PVV), Sietze Fritsma, is originally from the Immigration Service and he was assisted by his former collegues in opposing plans by the government to grant "refugees" amnesty. That the Amsterdam police has now joined the Immigration Service shows that there is support amongst the Dutch Civil Service for the plans of the Freedom Party.

The perspective

If the Freedom Party will continue to grow and become part of a government coalition it may be possible to get its program passed. A moratorium on immigration and the expelling of foreign criminals. The Immigration Service already seems to be on their side and the police is coming over. Geert Wilders' plans are looking more and more realistic.

A fifth seat for the Freedom Party?

Will the Freedom Party be second?

Press agency ANP reported that Geert Wilders' Freedom Party (PVV) may get a fifth seat in the European Parliament (EP). It was widely reported that the PVV stood at 4 seats. But the latest results show more gains for the PVV.

The Christian-Democrats (CDA) still stand at 5 seats. If the PVV gets 5 seats they will be equally large as the CDA and they will be equal to what used to be the biggest Dutch party in the EU parliament. All the other Dutch parties will be smaller than the PVV in Europe.

This may serve as a constant reminder to all the Europhile politicians that there is a strong undercurrent of hostility to greater power to the EU and its institutions.

Voter turnout and legitimacy of the EP

The voter turnout was not impressive. In The Netherlands around 36-37 percent of those eligible to vote, did. This alone should make the legitimacy of the EP, which passes around 80 percent of all legislation of the EU member states, questionable.

Turkey's membership of the EU

The PVV will be able to voice its opposition to allowing Turkey in the EU. It is essential that this country be stopped. Membership of the EU would mean free access of Turkeys 70 million citizens to Europe's Housing and Labour markets. With Turkey's double digit unemployment this would mean a dangerous reinforcement of the existing Turkish and Muslim communities in Europe's towns and cities. Turkey would be the second biggest nation in the EU, measured by population.

Wilders has categorically stated that Turkey can not be a member of the EU. Because it is a Muslim country.

That message must continually be restated in the EP.

Election results come in earlier in The Netherlands than in other European countries.

The provisional election results have been calculated in The Netherlands. The Netherlands has 25 seats in the European Parliament (EP). It looks like the Christian Democrats (CDA) are number one. They stood at 7 seats and go to 5 seats. Geert Wilders' Freedom Party (PVV) is second. From zero (0) seats to 4 seats.

When Dutch commentators and pundits reflect on the soul of the Dutch nation, they will often use the parabel of the Minister and the Merchant. This is the "Koopman and the Dominee" parabel. On the one hand the Dutchman has always tried to project an image of stern Protestant rectitude. The Minister. On the other hand he REALLY wants to make money. The Merchant.

The Media as the Minister

In the pervailing climate of Political Correctness or Neo-Marxism it was the Minister who usually won out in the way the media reported from the multicultural frontlines. With the advent of the internet and readership of the dead tree media falling like a felled fir tree, the Merchant is in ascendance.

Today leftist newspaper "De Volkskrant" hawked a "More Morroccan Criminals in Rotterdam" story, which I used as one of the sources for my previous article. What is remarkable is the prominent place the article received in the paper version of the "De Volkskrant" today: frontpage in the upper left hand corner.

PC losing its grip as glasnost

As far as I know it is a first for "De Volkskrant". It is exemplary of where the media in The Netherlands are heading. The Soviet Union embarked on a policy of openess "glasnost" in 1985. This was meant to assist in reforming the Communist system. But the relaxing of censorship caused so many absurdities of the system to come to the fore, that the elite lost its faith in the ideology altogether and this spelled its doom withing less than a decade.

Non-discrimination as the highest principle

There is a remarkable correlation between crime and ethnic the origin of criminals. It is necessary for the elites of Western societies to see this and to steer society in a direction that strengthens society, rather than weakening it. However Liberalism is the orthodoxy of the West. According to Traditionalist Conservative Laurence Auster the highest principle of Liberalism is the principle of non-discrimination.

This principle non-discrimination inhibits researchers from being able to see the most obvious patterns.

The color of crime in Rotterdam

Dutch Criminologist Frank Bovenkerk yesterday published figures on Crime and Ethnicity for Rotterdam (Dutch). Amongst other things Mr. Frank Bovenkerk found that:
55 percent of Rotterdam males between 18 and 24 years of Moroccan origin (Dutch) was at one or more times suspect of a crime. Caribbean Black have 40 percent and Turks 36 percent. Ethnic Dutch of the same age group have a whopping 18 percent quote.

The scope of the snapshot

Professor Bovenkerk notes that these figures are conservative as they are annual 2007 figures. Only Rotterdam does statistics in this way. Mr. Bovenkerk combined figuers from the Central Statistical Service (CBS) with police data in order map suspects from the first and second generation of immigrants. Further data including ethnicity from other social services are added.

Repeat offenders

According to the professor 90 percent of the Moroccan criminals is a repeat offender. For ethnic Dutch this is 60 percent. It is expected that a similar pattern is found in other major Dutch cities.

Persistent Liberalism syndrome

In an interview with `De Volkskrant` Professor Bovenkerk astoundingly insist there is no connection between crime and ethnic origin of criminals. He is against seeing crime as caused by ethnic origin and uses the word `stereotyping` to tar this approach. Instead he sees a correlation betweeen social organisation and crime. The Turkish ethnic group has the strongest social cohesion and the lowest crime figures. Apart from the Ethnic Dutch.

Non-discrimination rules supreme

And Professor Bovenkerk goes further. He is against a law that would gather add data on ethnicity in the crime stats. `In trying criminals according to the penal code the principle of equality should be paramount` says the Professor who is leaving the Utrecht University as a Professor of Criminology.
